January 10th, 1922, it was decided to move all Lodge furniture the following day to the new Temple.
January 17th, 1922 was an outstanding day for Acacia Lodge. An Emergent Meeting was held for the purpose of Dedicating the New Temple.
M. W. Bro. J. Murray Lawson, of Yarmouth, was present and conducted the Dedication Service in the usual style, as prescribed by Grand Lodge.
There was a large number of Masons present. Various Lodges were represented, making a total of 188.
Election of Officers took place at the March meeting, 1923. The three Principle Officers were: D. A. O’Neil, W.M., J. R. Cook, S.W. and L. L. Manning, J. W.
Installation of the Officers took place on April 10th. R. W. Bro. Reginald Hyson, D.D.G.M. of Charity Lodge, was the Installing Officer.
On June 26th, 1923, Unity Lodge No. 4 of Lunenburg was invited to visit Acacia and confer the Master Mason Degree on Fellow Craft Ernest Barnes.
There were 24 from Unity, 6 from Charity and 42 from Acacia.
C. U. Veinot, P.M. of Unity Lodge presided in the East.
M. W. Bro. D. A. O’Neil has called my attention to what he experienced during the meeting of March 11th, 1924.
Business of the meeting was the Election of Officers and the E. A. Degree on Bro. Arthur Himmelman.
It was nearing midnight, when the above business was finished.
At that time Fellow Craft Robert Bowers (a Master Mariner) who had received his F. C. Degree on January 8th, was reported in waiting and would like to receive his Master Mason’s Degree, as he would be going away for some time and did not know when he would get home again.
Bro. O’Neil says he called for volunteers to stay and confer the Degree. A good number responded and the Degree was conferred and Lodge closed about 2 a.m.
Grand Lodge having been invited to hold their Annual Communication at Bridgewater in the year 1924, opened the Session on Wednesday, June 11th. Our late M. W. Bro. J. H. Winfield presided.
There is no record as to the manner in which Acacia Lodge entertained Grand Lodge, except that a bill for $275.96 for the entertainment was presented and passed at the regular meeting in July.
